In Golf news, Year 10 Kris Kim (Fayrer) came second in the West of England Under 16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship.
Our Hockey teams took on Cranleigh, with seven wins or draws out of 13 matches played – a good return against strong opposition. The U14s were unbeaten and there was a good win for the U15As and an excellent start for the U13AB and U12AB teams in remaining undefeated in triangulars with Kingston Grammar School and St John’s.
It was a strong first outing for the new Netball 1st XII v Esher College. The girls won 53-14, with Charlotte Prideaux (Upper Sixth, Wilson) named as Player of the Match.
Our Rugby teams took on Seaford College. It was tough in the top age groups but there was success in the younger years, with the U15s all winning well as well as the U14BC teams having good wins. William Murphy (Year 10, Propert) scored a hattrick for the U15Bs and Vladimir Popeta (Year 9, Holman) scored four tries for the U14Bs. The U13 and U12 sides won well against Reigate Grammar School on Wednesday.
Epsom’s Girls’ U16 Ski Team qualified for the National Finals finishing in fourth position in the South East regional qualifier and tenth overall in England. The National Finals will be held in Norwich on Saturday 8 October. There were also excellent results in the boys’ individual category for Monty Griffin (Year 10, Forest) who came Fourth, Rohan Patel (Year 11, Grenville) who placed sixth and Matti Smith (Year 11, Fayrer) who came seventh.
In Squash, the 1st team beat St Paul’s 4-1 on Tuesday.
