The College is back in full swing following the Christmas break and we’re back to full fixtures.
In Netball the 1st team defeated KCS 55-15 to reach the next round of the Independent Schools National Plate. The player of the match was Maddi Lovett (Lower Sixth, Crawfurd).
40 of the College’s Netball players travelled to Guildford on Sunday 8 January for some pre-season training with two Surrey Storm Players, Peace Proscovia (the Uganda national team captain) and Felisitus Kwangwa (the Zimbabwe national team captain).
The masterclass consisted of two workshops, one on attacking skills and one on defensive skills. It was an inspirational day, and the girls are looking forward to sharing their learnings with their teammates and implementing their new skills in their upcoming matches this season.
The U16 Girls Squash team reached the final of the nationals, beating Downe House on Wednesday.
Seven pupils attended the Scottish Open, a major competition in the international junior squash calendar, attracting players from across the world including from Japan, India and Malaysia this year. All our pupils played excellent squash, proving they could compete at the highest level. Standout achievements came in the Boys’ U15 and Girls’ U19 categories, which were won by Ronnie Hickling (Year 10, Carr) and Savannah Ingledew (Lower Sixth, Crawfurd).
