The U14A rugby team overcame illness, injury and enforced last-minute law-adaptations to defeat a powerful and talented Trinity side 17-0 in the School Sport Magazine National Schools U14 Cup quarter-final. This makes them the South East regional winners and puts them through to a semi-final in the coming weeks.
In a closely fought match, Epsom played well on both sides of the ball for much of the game, but the team’s collective commitment in defence was perhaps the key factor, notably in the second half.
Two tries from Luc Springate (Fa) and one from Alex Frewer (P) allied with an outstanding defensive display saw the team to an impressive victory in front of appreciative home supporters.
A pleasing result and the boys should be proud of their performance. However, as ever, there is much to work on as we prepare for the semi-final.
