Once again the Boys and Girls excelled in the Co-Ed meeting here at Epsom on Saturday. 34 events were won by Epsom athletes as the combined team finished first out of six schools. Epsom’s B Team finished above the A Teams from St John’s and Caterham.
Adahna Ekoku (Rv) won three Senior events: the Hurdles, Long Jump and 100m, as well as the 4x100m relay.
Farrah Stephens-Martin (M) also won three Junior events: the 100m, 200m and Long Jump, with a new Junior College record.
Farrah was also part of the winning 4x100m relay team along with Anouska Powell (W), Sophie Edison (M) and Thea Thompson-Brown (R). The team set a new Junior College record, beating the previous time by over a second.
There were also Senior victories for Sophie Gee (R) in the 400m, Lottie Burton (M) in the 1500m, Isabel Evans in the High Jump and Rose Ewins in the Shot Put.
In the Inters, Ella Beswick (W) won the 300m, while in the Juniors Anna Andrews (R) won the Shot Put and Thea Thompson-Brown the Hurdles.
For the boys, there were several multiple winners.
Luke Laughton (C) won the Senior 100m and 200m; Josh King (H) the Inter 100m and Javelin; Fraser Law (Rn) the Junior 100m and 200m; and Seumas MacLeod (H) the Javelin and the 300m, where he set a new Junior College record.
Other winners were Tom Wearne (G) 400m; Oliver Callaghan (Rn) 1500m; Benji Oosterwyk (P) Hurdles; Milan Olu-Williams (Fa) Long Jump; Maada-Samu Baihinga (H) 400m; Bryn Cann (Fa) High Jump; Joe Menassa (Rn) Discus; Rorke Ollerhead (Fa) Hurdles; Harry Pearson (H) High Jump and the Senior and Junior sprint relay teams.
This concludes a superb season for the College athletes.
