Spanish Pupils Cook Up a Treat

Year 10 and Year 12 pupils were treated to a culinary and linguistic day to remember as Xavier, from the London Paella School, taught them the secret to making authentic paella

On a blisteringly hot day in the marquee on Wilson pitch, Year 10 and 12 Spanish students practised their linguistic skills while developing their culinary talents. As hobs burned and temperatures soared, pupils listened intently to the cookery course delivered entirely in Spanish. They interpreted a Spanish recipe, were guided by the team from the London Paella School, and eventually served up a variety of delicious, albeit mixed, creations. Some pupils developed delicious vegan and vegetarian versions to suit their tastes.

The judges evaluated all the paellas and selected two winning pairs: Isabella Matson and Alexa Neglan, and Felicia Cheung and Mimi Thomas.
