Six students are celebrating offers to study at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Places at these seats of academic excellence are highly-prized and harder than ever to win, thanks to fierce competition from leading candidates across the globe.
The offers are a huge achievement and testament to the hard work of the pupils, and the high quality of Epsom’s teaching. The places offered are:
The University of Oxford
- Anna Gillespie – French and English
- Kavika Hewamana – Biology
- Faris Jafar – History
University of Cambridge
- Tabitha Evans – Theology
- Milo Fitzhugh – Economics
- Sophie White – Anglo Saxon, Norse, and Celtic
With top entry requirements, a lengthy application process and challenging interview questions, Oxbridge places are notoriously difficult to secure.
Deputy Head (Academic), Mrs Rebecca Brown, said: “These pupils can be really proud of themselves knowing that the tutors who interviewed them judged them to be amongst the very best students in the country. Having six offers in the current climate is excellent, and in a variety of different courses too. This goes to prove, once again, that Epsom College is able to provide an exceptional education across the board that challenges and pushes even the most able. These six of our Upper Sixth, along with Ms Hasan who heads up our Oxbridge programme, are to be hugely congratulated for their hard work.”
