On Friday 4 February, Raven House enjoyed a night of ABBA, entertainment and fun at their Mamma Mia-themed House Soirée. The Lower Sixth kicked the night off with an intense lip-sync battle, which was followed by a mind-boggling ABBA quiz presented by the Fifth Form.
In their first Soirée, the Middle Fourth girls performed a song and dance routine to Mamma Mia which had everyone clapping along. Saira (Lower Sixth) sang a theatrical rendition of Burn from the musical Hamilton, followed by Millie (Upper Fourth) singing What It Means To Be A Friend. The Upper Sixth solo singers – Ariana and Meredith – also demonstrated stellar performances singing Thank You For The Music from Mamma Mia and Your Song by Elton John.
The last of the year group acts was the Upper Fourth, performing Does Your Mother Know from Mamma Mia with great sass.
The Upper Sixth Mamma Mia mash-up video stole the show, displaying huge talent, effort, and humour, featuring all the Upper Sixth girls and a wide variety of the Epsom staff.
To end the night, all the girls enthusiastically sang our winning Choral Competition song, Don’t Lose Your Head from the musical Six. Additionally, we raised £840 for our House charity, Dementia UK, through our raffle. Thank you to all the parents and girls who donated to such a great cause.
