RAF Cadets Experience Life As An Apache Pilot

An inspirational trip to Middle Wallop Air Base gave our RAF Cadets a taste of life at the controls of various aircraft

Eighteen of our Year 10 RAF cadets had a truly inspirational day at the Middle Wallop Air Base.

In the morning, they conducted tour of an Apache helicopter, where they were able to see its inner workings and sit inside the cockpit. The cadets were thrilled to experience what it is like to be an Apache helicopter pilot.

The excitement went up a notch when they all experienced the ultimate military computer game: the Virtual Battle Simulator, where the entire group battled together to defeat the enemy.

The afternoon’s activities included a tour of the Air Museum and experiencing the Boeing Academy, where the cadets saw how the pilots trained on the Apache helicopter. The day ended with the group completing two challenging but very enjoyable Command tasks.

In so many ways, a memorable day that will stay long in the cadets’ memory.
