As part of LGBT History Month, pupils have been encouraged to show their solidarity with their LGBT peers, and raise awareness of the issues faced by them, by wearing ‘rainbow laces’ for matches and games.
Pupils from the College’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee spent last week selling rainbow laces in the Houses and Lower School. Funds raised will go toward Switchboard, a free helpline offering support to LGBT people.
Mr Henry Carr, Genders and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) Lead, said: “It was excellent to see so many pupils raising awareness and bringing so much important discussion onto the sports pitch. Funds are still pouring in and the GSA is looking forward to announcing the official total soon.”
