Upper Fourth pupil Verity Russell (R) will feature in the forthcoming series of Netflix drama, The Crown. The new season of the historical series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II airs this Sunday (17 November).
Verity first played the young Elizabeth in season one. She starred alongside Jared Harris in the role of George VI, in poignant scenes that provided the series with its historical context. Verity reprises her role this season, alongside a cast that includes Oscar-winner Olivia Colman and other luminaries such as Helen Bonham-Carter, Charles Dance and Derek Jacobi.
This season of the award-winning stately saga follows the loves, lives and licentious goings-on of the Windsors from 1964 to the Silver Jubilee. Early reviews have been strong, and the series is tipped for further awards at next year’s BAFTAs and Emmys.
