Golfer, David Boote (Rn 2007-12), placed an impressive fifth in the recent Challenge Tour Grand Final. Televised on Sky Sport, David played superbly to be in contention throughout the tournament – scoring four rounds under par (69, 68, 70, 68) and finishing on -9, just two shots off victory.
David left Epsom in 2012 to read Human Biology as a sport scholar at Stanford University, USA.
He currently plays out of Walton Heath Golf Club and represents Wales. He was in the Walker Cup team in 2017 after which he turned professional on the Challenge Tour. In September, he finished ninth at the European Tour event The Open de Portugal at Roya Obidos, to qualify for the Challenge Tour Grand Final.
“Thanks to everyone for their messages of support not only this week but through the whole year. 2020 has had its ups and downs but I’m fortunate to have the chance to compete, given the pandemic.”
David Boote, OE
