Middle Fourth artists were tasked with creating land art installations, inspired by British conceptual artist, Richard Long. Pupils gathered items from nature, including sticks, pebbles, leaves, straw and weeds, to create some striking visual displays.
Sir Richard Julian Long, CBE, RA, is an English sculptor and one of the best-known British land artists. His work typically is made of earth, rock, mud, stone and other nature based materials. In exhibitions his work is displayed with the materials or though documentary photographs of his performances and experiences.
