The aim was to raise money for three local charities who help to make a positive impact on the lives of young people:
- Together for Short Lives
- Down’s Syndrome Association
- Teenage Cancer Trust
Activities on offer at the Charity Fair were ‘Sponge the Teacher’ (Robinson House), ‘The Sweets Shop’ (White House), ‘Guess What’s in the Box’ (Holman House), face-painting and temporary tattoos (Wilson House), ‘The Lucky Dip’ and ‘Down the Cans’ (Murrell House), ice cream sundaes and brownies (Raven House), ‘Football Penalty Shoot-out’ (Forest), ‘The Taste Test’ (Carr House), cookie decorating (Rosebery House), ‘Throw a Pie at the Charity Rep’ (Propert House), a darts challenge (Granville House), ‘The Cup Shuffle’ (Fayrer House), and a deluxe hot chocolate and popcorn stall, plus a photo booth (Crawfurd House).
£1,400 raised in one hour
The pupils raised approximately £1,400 in one hour for our chosen charities, and there was a brilliant sense of goodwill and a great energy in the Mermaid Café as pupils of all ages took part in a variety of activities and enjoyed the food that was on offer.
Thank you to all who dedicated time, energy and imagination to make this fair a success. We are so grateful to all of you who help to organise these charity events and emphasise the important work that each of these charities is doing locally and internationally – making a positive difference in the lives of others.
