On Monday, the Lower School hosted their first ever charity bake off in support of the two chosen Lower School charities: Teenage Cancer Trust and World Wildlife Fund.
Pupils spent time over the weekend baking and decorating delicious cakes and other sweet treats – we had a total of 35 entries across the Third Form and Lower Fourth.
There were a number of seasonal ideas such as a cake in the shape of a Christmas tree and a festive yule log. Pupils were creative in their designs, ranging from a rainbow cake to a surprise M&M-filled chocolate cake.
All cakes were reviewed and tasted by our in-house experts: Bev Spencer, Head of Catering; and Andy Trowell, Executive Head Chef. They were highly impressed with quality of all the entries. Cakes were then made available to staff to enjoy in return for a donation towards our charities. All pupils that entered were recognised in assemblies and winners announced and awarded certificates.
