Each term one of the College prefects is appointed to the role of Head of School. The Head of School leads the prefect team in their duties and meets with the Second Master and Head weekly to discuss matters affecting the student body and to enact change and new initiatives.
The Head of School for the Michaelmas Term will be Jamie Stephen (Holman). On hearing the news, Jamie said: “I am honoured to be the Head of School for such a welcoming and outgoing community here at Epsom, where all skillsets, interests and abilities are appreciated. I have really enjoyed my time in Holman, being a part of a community where everyone wants to see you succeed and be the best version of yourself, and I am really looking forward to what my final year at the College holds.”
Originally from South Africa, Jamie has lived in the UK for the past seven years and joined Epsom in Year 9. He is studying Art, Design & Technology and Mathematics at A-level and has completed an EPQ focused on the social and political impact of hip-hop music. Outside of the classroom he represents the College at Basketball, while also playing Football and Tennis, and will also be the head of the Architecture Society next year.
Paul Williams, Second Master, added: “Jamie embodies all the qualities and attributes that we look for when appointing students into the role of Head of School. I look forward to working with him next year and seeing him thrive in the role.”
