Following last week’s strong A-level results, the College is, once again, celebrating record GCSE results with 53% of all examinations graded A* (or 9-8) and 76% of grades awarded in the A*-A range (9-7).
There were outstanding results in all areas of the curriculum, notably in Computer Science, Further Maths, Geography, Mandarin and Music. Over 90% of grades in these subjects were awarded A*- A (9s and 8s).
Headmaster, Mr Jay Piggot, said: “Over the past eight years, the College has witnessed our GCSE grades rise by 20% within the A*-A grade range. This commendable advancement of learning is enabled by inspiring teaching and sustained commitment by our determined students.
“These excellent results provide an assured foundation for this able cohort of pupils to embark upon the exciting challenge of A Level study and future university application.”
Outstanding individual performances
Within the context of a talented year group, there are some notable individual performances. Top performers included: Andrey Ivanov, Annabel Hindley, Artur Shagitov, Chiara Fahy-Spada, Elisabeth Phizackerley, Gina Hooton, Isaac Chow, Jasmine Gokcemen, Jazz Lai, Sofya Kovalenko and William Jackson who achieved ten or more top-grade A*s or 9s.
Almost a third of all pupils (32%) achieved an exceptional clean sweep of A* and A grades.
