Epsom College was declared the ‘Best Independent School’ in Surrey last night at a dazzling awards ceremony held at Denbies Wine Estate. The event, organised by Surrey Rocks, sought to celebrate the Best in Surrey across a range of sectors including hotels, restaurants, golf clubs and independent schools.
Epsom was selected above the other nominated finalists: St George’s College (Weybridge), St John’s School (Leatherhead), Cranleigh School, Charterhouse, Downsend and Hurtwood House.
Collecting the award on behalf of the College, Nick Russell (Assistant Head: Sixth Form) said, “It’s heartening to receive such an accolade which is a testament to the strength of the whole Epsom community. We are fortunate to enjoy great facilities in a beautiful setting – but what is particularly special about Epsom is the palpable sense of community. Everyone belongs and everyone plays their part. We have felt the strength and warmth of our community more than ever in 2023. It’s lovely for that to be acknowledged. Thank you.”
