For the second year running, the Sunday Times has judged Epsom College as Surrey’s leading co-ed day and boarding school. The Parent Power 2021 league table (paywall), which ranks every Independent School in the UK, sees Epsom climb from 68th to 62nd place – on the strength of its GCSE and A-level performance.
Due to this year’s results being based on centre-assessed grades, The Sunday Times has looked back to data from 2019 and measured progress against 2018’s results.
In 2019, our pupils achieved record results for the fifth consecutive year.
90% of A-levels were A*-B, 67% were A*-A. At GCSE, half the exams were graded 9-8 (A*), and 74% achieved 9-7 (A*-A)
“I am delighted with this outcome,” said Mr Jay Piggot, Headmaster. “To witness Epsom College among the top tier of British education reflects admirably on the sustained efforts of our staff and pupils over several years.
To record these results in the same year as being judged among the ‘Best of Best’ for our co-curricular provision highlights the College’s core qualities: breadth of opportunity united with academic excellence.”
