This morning, to round off a year that can only be described as exceptional, Epsom College reached the final of the Independent School of the Year awards.
From a field of over 100 shortlisted schools, Epsom College has been selected as a finalist is the category of Co-Educational Independent School of The Year.
We compete against Monkton Combe School, Reigate Grammar, St Dunstan’s College and The Glasgow Academy. The overall winner will be announced on 8 October, at a virtual event.
The awards, run by Independent School Parent magazine, were launched in 2018 “to highlight the excellence of the student experience in independent schools”.
This year, the judges were also looking for schools that demonstrated an innovative, eye-catching and community-minded response to the pandemic.
Epsom was praised for delivering “transformative and innovative projects and programmes” and for demonstrating “resilience and agility and delivering a first-class educational experience to its pupils in these most challenging circumstances.”
The judges added, “It was an extremely tough decision to whittle down the finalists, especially given the consistently high standard of the entries. Thank you to all schools for taking part and congratulations to not only the finalists, but all schools who were shortlisted.”
