Each year, Epsom runs this event to provide support to aspiring Oxbridge students from a range of local schools.
This year, in addition to our own students, candidates joined us from local schools, including Glyn, Epsom and Ewell, Rosebery and City of London Freemen’s, generously aided by their teachers, OEs and Epsom College parents. The in-person event will be followed by a number of online interviews for those who were unable to attend.
Each student was paired with a subject specialist, who read their personal statement in advance and prepared Oxbridge-style questions to test the candidates.
For many students, this will have been their first interview of this kind, and they will have been nervous and keen to make a good impression, benefitting a great deal from a practice run. Each interviewer will provide written feedback to candidates, which will be shared with them ahead of their next (and likely, real) interview. Many students have expressed their gratitude for this chance to practise.
