Epsom’s Apprentice Chef, Caitlin Riggs, has been awarded silver and bronze medals at one of the UK’s largest live culinary competitions.
Held in association with The Craft Guild of Chefs, the Wessex Salon Culinaire is a highly-regarded platform for student chefs looking for their first competition experience.
Caitlin entered into two awards battling against 30 other chefs: the pasta dish and fine dining categories. Top chefs from the Craft Guild of Chefs judged the competition observing both the chefs’ skills and quality of food. Caitlin secured the bronze (pasta dish) and silver (fine dining) awards.
Head of Catering, Mrs Bev Spencer, said: “Caitlin joined the Epsom Catering team in September as a third year Apprentice Chef and has shown great progress and skill during her time at the College – we are very proud of this well-deserved achievement.”
