Epsom had 12 girls and 15 boys representing Central Surrey at the County Championships on Saturday at The Kingsmeadow Stadium, Kingston. In very windy conditions there were some exceptional performances from both boys and girls who will have gained an enormous amount of experience in the most competitive of environments.
Girls
There were four podium finishes, one County Champion and a total of three new College records set. Overall an exceptional effort from all the girls.
Gold Medal
- Junior – Farrah Stephens-Martin (M) – 1st 200m (26.77s)
Silver Medal
- Senior – Isabel Evans (R) – 2nd High Jump (1m 43cm)
- Senior – Grace Crompton (R) – 2nd Triple Jump (10m 70cm) a new Senior Girls Record (beating the previous record by 1cm, set back in 2007).
Bronze Medal
- Senior – Adahna Ekoku (Rv) – 3rd Long Jump (5m 60cm) a new Senior Girls Record
Other notable performances
- Inter – Ella Nigrelli (Rv) Javelin (31m 27cm) a new Inter Girls Record (beating the previous record set in 2009).
- Inter – Sophie Edison (M) – 7th in the 300m final
- Junior – Jess Alexander (Rv) – 4th Discus (21m 36cm)
- Junior – Olivia Thompson-Brown (M) – 5th Javelin (23m 71cm)
Boys
There were two podium finishes and some near misses.
Bronze Medal
- Senior – Tom Wearne (G) – 3rd Javelin (41.63m)
- Inter – Solomon Ekoku (Fa) – 3rd Triple Jump (12.62m)
