Over the Easter holidays, 26 Middle Fourth and Upper Fourth pupils travelled to the United Arab Emirates to take part in the prestigious Arch Trophy. With teams from the UK, Australia, and the UAE this was to play a key part in our boys’ pre-season preparations.
On the trip the boys utilised world class training facilities as well as playing matches in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. These fixtures were played in the same venues that recently hosted the U19 World Cup and included a series of day-night fixtures played under floodlights. The boys also took part in a number of cultural activities including a desert safari, falconry, and watching a traditional dance display.
On the field the tour was a successful one with Epsom winning six out of the nine matches in total across the two teams. The development side went one stage further to win the Arch Shield outright with Fayrer House pupil, Luka Woods, collecting the player of the tournament award.
