A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols
The Chapel was once again filled with festive spirit for the traditional Christmas Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. The Senior School’s Chapel Choir delivered a stunning performance, singing seven beautiful anthems, including Seek Him That Maketh the Seven Stars by Jonathan Dove. Their voices resonated throughout the Chapel, lifting the hearts of all who attended.
Pupils from each house took to the lectern to read the lessons from the King James Bible, reminding everyone of the timeless Christmas story. The College community – parents, pupils, and staff – gathered to share in the joy and reflection of the season. A heartfelt thanks is extended to the Chapel Choir, Mr Johnson-Hyde, Director of Music and Mr Wickham, Assistant Director of Music, for their dedication and artistry.
On Friday morning, the Lower School Carol Service took place in the Chapel. The talented Lower School Chapel Choir performed five anthems, delighting the congregation with their range and skill. Readings were delivered by Lower School pupils, who contributed to the special atmosphere of the morning.
Warm thanks go to them and to all who help support this wonderful event.
A retiring collection was held at each service in support of the charity Medicines Sans Frontier, and we are deeply grateful to all who donated. The beautifully decorated Chapel, thanks to the parent flower team, who added a perfect touch of festive elegance to the services.
Wishing you all a joyous and blessed Christmas.

Lower School
The Lower School pupils have had a wonderful last week of term with Christmas Jumper Day, gingerbread decorating and their Carol Service, but most laughter was heard coming from Big School on Tuesday lunchtime when they were treated to Christmas Lunch. The pupils enjoyed roast turkey with all the trimmings, crackers and party hats, and the Grinch even danced and joked his way around the room!
As the pupils left, they were given some goodie bags and spent the afternoon enjoying those. Thank you to the wonderful Catering Team for all they do – this really was an event to remember!
Christmas Extravaganza
Wednesday evening saw 85 pupils and staff performers entertain a packed Big School with Christmas songs and dance routines, including the story of The Grinch in Dance.
There was so much fun and talent on display from all the boys and girls (see programme below). The evening ended in uproar, with the staff band playing I Wish It Could Be Christmas by Wizzard, as Mr ‘Grinch’ Williams tried to bring it to a close, before being ushered out by the Headmaster – with a sackful of sweets for everyone.
