Michaelmas Term was wrapped up in a fittingly festive style this week, with a sackful of Christmassy events taking place around the College. A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols rang out across the College, Christmas jumpers were donned for Save the Children, the Catering department put on a delicious Christmas lunch, and the Extravaganza showcased the talents of our pupils and staff – leaving all feeling merry and bright.
We wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2024.
A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols
During the last week of term, Chapel played host to the traditional Christmas service of Nine Lessons and Carols. The Chapel Choir led the service with many beautiful carols expertly sung, lifting the hearts of all who were lucky enough to attend. Pupils from each House read the lessons from the King James Bible and reminded us all of the wonderful Christmas story.
We welcomed parents, pupils and other members of the College community to each of the services. Huge thanks go to the Chapel Choir and to Mr Johnson-Hyde, Director of Music.
On Friday morning the Chapel hosted the Lower School Carol Service. The Lower School Chapel choir led the service and treated the congregation to a super range of carols. The readings were read by Lower School pupils. Thanks to them all and to Mr Wickham, Assistant Director of Music.
A retiring collection was taken each night for the charity, Refuge. Thank you to all those who donated. Thanks also to the Parent Flower Team who decorated the Chapel so professionally.
A very happy and blessed Christmas to you all.

Christmas Extravaganza
The hugely popular Christmas Extravaganza took place on Wednesday evening for the Epsom Community. The variety concert, in aid of charity, included soloists, bands, dance troupes and comedy acts.
Making The World Better With a Sweater
The whole School took part in Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday. Pupils and staff were encouraged to wear their sparkliest, brightest and funniest festive jumpers to raise money for charity.
“This year’s Christmas Jumper Day, benefiting Save the Children charity, was a resounding success. We raised over £700 for this important charity. Staff and students wore their festive best and enjoyed the special Christmas lunch, courtesy of the Catering team, in style. Thanks to all who participated in the festivities,” said Dr Beth Eliott Lockhart, Charities Coordinator.
