On Tuesday 7 May we were visited by The Chetwynd Consort, a professional choral ensemble based in London, for an afternoon of workshops with two of the College’s vocal ensembles.
Both the Chamber Choir and the Barbershop Chorus benefitted hugely from a highly interesting afternoon of workshops, and were able to showcase what they had achieved at a concert that evening. The audience was then treated to a performance from the visiting ensemble, who delighted those present with a programme of music ranging from Renaissance compositions to modern arrangements of folk songs and jazz standards.
Both groups displayed notable improvement throughout the afternoon and will have benefitted greatly from being able to work so closely with such a high-quality ensemble.
