The College Chapel Choir was invited to sing Choral Evensong in the magnificent setting of St Paul’s Cathedral, London, on Monday, which was enjoyed by over 80 members of the College community. The 50 strong Chapel Choir were in fine voice singing a varied programme of liturgical music which included Noble’s majestic setting of the Evening Service in B minor alongside Palestrina’s setting of Psalm 42 ‘Sicut Cervus’.
“It was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience one of the country’s most iconic cathedrals and sing in an impressive acoustic.”
Director of Music, Mr Paul Johnson-Hyde.
Prior to Evensong, the Education Trust & OE Club organised a guided tour of the cathedral and afternoon tea in the crypt for 40 parents, grandparents, OEs and friends of the College.
