The Music Department, and the wider College Community, celebrated several milestones on Tuesday evening. We said thank you to three long-serving music teachers, Mrs Bridget Stevens, Mr Mike Osborn and Mr Gilbert Rowland.
Mrs Bridget Stevens retires after 21 years at the College teaching violin and viola; while Mr Mike Osborn celebrates an impressive 100 terms teaching percussion.
An impressive milestone was reached in the Music Department’s history by Mr Gilbert Rowland, who has reached 50 years of teaching piano at the College.
Director of Music, Mr Paul Johnson-Hyde, said: “Starting in 1969, Mr Rowland has inspired generations of pupils – he has even taught a father and his daughter as pupils at the College.”
As part of the celebrations, Epsom said farewell and good luck to Miss Nevada Summerley, our Graduate Music Assistant, who is leaving after two years to take up the role of Assistant Director of Music at Thomas’s Battersea.
