Olivia Gioffredo opened the evening with Why? (accompanied by her dad on guitar), followed by Polina Radko’s Ukrainian song Обріж всі стрічки. The performances took us around the world, with highlights such as Frankie Larter’s Spanish poem by Octavio Paz, and a special moment from Mr Antonio Duarte, one of the College porters, who sang The Girl from Ipanema in Portuguese.
The night wrapped up with beautiful performances in Chinese, Russian, Japanese, German, Cantonese, and Romanian, and those attending were treated to canapes from the global kitchen, with cuisines from around the world on offer. A fitting way to showcase the many nationalities, cultures and ethnicities within the College community.
“I really enjoyed the Mosaic evening, it was great to hear different pieces in such a wide range of languages, I love languages and learning more about them. It was such a fun evening and to take part in something that I am passionate about is amazing,” said Year 9 Frankie Larter.
