The Music Department welcomed 180 local pupils from nine schools for the 31st annual Epsom College Music Festival. The pupils, from Years 3 to 6, took a musical trip around the world singing songs in a variety of languages led by the Director of Music, Mr Johnson-Hyde. Destinations included Brazil, Scotland, America and South Africa.
After a busy morning of rehearsals and lunch, pupils were treated to a concert from Epsom College pupils, which included some of the winners from the Choral Concert. Mary Angel Ngamali (Cr) reprised her winning performance of Love in the Dark by Adele. There were also performances from Ananya Kailasam (R) and Barney Fildes (P).
Pupils put on their own performance at 4pm accompanied by Assistant Head of Music, Mr Johns and Percussion teacher Mr Osborn. This was attended by an appreciative audience of parents who were also treated to tea in Main Hall prior to the concert.
Thank you to the enthusiastic pupils from Cumnor House Girls, St Martin’s CofE Junior Schools, The Study School, Thomas’s Clapham and Wandsworth Prep, and to the 200 parents who joined us for the afternoon concert.
