On Tuesday, 19th March we celebrated AGI Day at the College and were delighted to welcome OEs, including those currently serving, to observe the days’ activities.
Tea & coffee was served in the marquee on Chapel Lawn, before an inspiring Chapel service led by Revd Canon Andrew Haviland.
The flags of Epsom College CCF were paraded from the West Door to the Sanctuary, where they were placed by the altar.
Guests were addressed by The Revd Canon Michael Parker KHC CF Chaplain General, HM Land Forces, British Army, who reminisced about his own time at school and spoke of the significance of the Colleges’ values in life beyond education.
Our pupils showcased these values splendidly throughout the day, in a range of activities led by Contingent Commander Ben MacDowel:
General Salute and Inspection of the Contigent
March Past
Honour Guard
Address from Commodore James Farrant
Inter-Section obstacle course and gun run on Wilson pitch with pyrotechnics
Parents, CCF Staff, OEs and Senior NCOs then enjoyed a sit down lunch in Main Hall, followed by House competitions and prize giving to finish off an excellent day.
We welcome all OEs to visit AGI Day. Guests are encouraged to wear their medals and Serving Officers to wear uniform with medals.
We are keen to connect all current Serving OEs, so if you would like to reunite with fellow alumni in the Armed Forces, please get in touch via email oeclub@epsomcollege.org.uk .
