Earlier this week PSD pupils enjoyed a visit from Millie the cockapoo, who visited us from the Pets as Therapy charity.
Assistant Head: Pupil Welfare, Helen Keevil, said: “The emotional intelligence section of the PSD course includes exploration of finding a sense of calm, which can be enhanced by the presence of a well-being dog. The psychological benefits for young people are evident. Loyalty, devotion, dependency are all qualities a dog can offer. Dogs bring comfort, lead us to nature, boost our mood, and encourage physical activity. They enhance our creativity and improve our empathy.”
