On Monday 16 September, the Upper Fourth and Lower Sixth pupils studying Design and Technology headed to London to make the most of the London Design Festival and kickstart the process of investigating various aspects related to their courses.
Having completed a very useful workshop on materials, pupils visited the Designer Maker User exhibition, which looks at the development of modern design through three inter-connected roles.
Following lunch, we developed our opinions on AI technology and its potential future impact on vehicles at the Science Museum’s special exhibition DRIVERLESS: who is in control? This provided significant food for thought for both the GCSE and A-level DT courses.
The V&A provided the final venue for the day, with groups visiting a variety of galleries including the Dr Susan Weber gallery and 20th Century, in addition to viewing some of the London Design festival exhibits.
