A Fantastic End of Year for our DofE Pupils

With over 150 pupils completing the expedition section of the Silver and Gold awards, we were impressed with their leadership, resilience and commitment.

Expeditions

In July, our Gold Award students travelled to the Shropshire Hills. They walked about 100km and faced ascents akin to Ben Nevis on their routes. We were thrilled that 45 students took part in the Gold expedition this year, building on their experience in the Peak District on the practice expedition.

Residentials

Our Gold participants have been keenly completing their residential sections over the summer break. Students have taken part in programmes ranging from Life Science Projects to Charity Volunteering to Ancient Greek Summer Schools.

Duke of Edinburgh Youth Ambassador

We congratulate Kalina Hristova for completing her training to step into the role of DofE UK Youth Ambassador. She is one of around 30 young people to have been selected as advocates for the DofE and share their stories to ensure youth voices are heard. Kalina will attend Skills Building Workshops each month to help her excel in the role, and she will be given the opportunity to engage with inspirational speakers as well as media training, mental health awareness and visual goal setting.
