We were delighted to welcome 40 OEs and their guests to a 60 Year Reunion in Main Hall on 22nd April. The event was instigated by Peter Robinson (Fayrer) who helped gather the 1962-64 leavers, some of whom had not been back to the College since they left in the Sixth Form.
Following a drinks reception and a buffet lunch, a raffle, organised by Peter, was held to raise funds for bursaries at the College. Our thanks go to Peter, to everyone who attended, and to all those who contributed a prize and supported this fundraising initiative.
Guests were delighted to meet Headmaster, Sir Anthony Seldon, who donated a signed copy of his book, The Path of Peace: Walking the Western Front Way, in support of the raffle and gave a speech after lunch.
Later in the afternoon, some guests enjoyed a pupil-led tour while others headed over to the cricket square to watch the 1st XI beat Brighton College by seven wickets.
Cec Rutherford (Fayrer) commented afterwards, “My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. The reunion was a great success and our thanks go to all who made it so special. Much has changed at Epsom yet so much is still familiar. The tour was fascinating and our very helpful tour guide typified the enthusiasm and confidence that Epsom can help nurture in students.”
