Congratulations! | Epsom College

Congratulations on your offer from Epsom College – we really hope you will join us and become part of our community.

You have until Wednesday 6 March to make your decision. To help, we’ve put together this content, and – as you will know – we are hosting an Offer Holders’ Event on Thursday 22 February.

At the event, children will take part in a fun (and 100% non-assessed!) activity – a chance to meet future classmates, and some of our Sixth Form.

Parents will hear from pupils, our new Head, Mark Lascelles (starting September 2024), and can put questions to our Senior Leadership Team.

Happy pupils...

Voted the UK’s Independent School of the Year for Student Wellbeing, and one of only four UK boarding schools to achieve ‘Gold’ from the Carnegie Centre for Excellence in Mental Health in Schools.

We take pupil wellbeing seriously at Epsom because we know a successful school depends upon a happy community.

On the sports fields...

Voted the top co-ed school for sport in southeast England, we’re incredibly proud of the way we balance sporting success with academic results.

Almost 90% of all pupils compete each week in a fixture programme unrivalled by other schools. Plus, with 72-acres of grounds, everything we offer is on-site – no travelling required!

In the concert halls...

Music is at the heart of the College. From the annual Choral Competition – which sees every pupil in every House battle it out in a unison, part song, and solo performance – to our elite choirs and ensembles that tour Europe.

Spanning every style and genre, and catering for all levels, we aim to foster a love of music for all while supporting our most accomplished musicians to even greater heights.

On the stage...

Whether your child is centre-stage, behind the scenes, or simply in the audience cheering on their classmates, Epsom’s performing arts programme provides outstanding opportunities and lifelong memories.

Show-stopping performances in front of sell-out crowds, plus regular trips to the West End and a biennial trip to Broadway, will satisfy the hunger of any child who has a taste for the theatrical.

Enriched, inspired & passionate

Our longer day, and Saturday school, create the time and space for pupils to spend two hours each day engaged in a vast programme of cultural, academic, physical and spiritual enrichment.

Over 150+ clubs, activities and societies take place each week, leading The Week to identify our programme as ‘the best of the best’ in UK Independent education.

So, whether your child volunteers in the local community, dives deeper into subjects that inspire them, or tries their hand at something they would never have attempted (circus skills? yoga? water polo? dissection club?!) they will leave Epsom enriched, inspired and – hopefully – passionate about new ideas and experiences.

Bright young things

Lower School (for Years 7 & 8) is the perfect stepping stone between primary and secondary education.

Our youngest pupils are well looked after. Based in our purpose-built Lower School building, they have Tutors, Heads of Year, and a team of Sixth Form Peer Mentors guiding them every step of the way.

Lower School pupils even have their own timetable, designed specifically to ease them into life in the Senior School.

A place to call home

From Year 9 onward, all pupils join one of our 13 single-sex Houses. These are physical buildings that become your child’s home from home – a place to relax, do homework, hang out with friends and, if we’re honest, eat lots of toast.

Houses are also the pastoral bedrock of the College. Your child is looked after by a huge team – Housemasters, Deputy Housemasters, Matrons and Tutors – each of whom is trained in Mental Health First Aid. This means they are a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, someone who can keep an eye out for any wobbles before they become bigger problems.
