Epsom College has maintained its strong academic performance in this year’s GCSEs, with 74% of all exams graded 9-7 (A*-A), and over half (54%) gaining 9-8 (A*).
These are the first public exams since 2019, before the pandemic hit and disrupted the education received by this group of pupils. Despite the impact of Covid, this year’s results are slightly up on 2019, when 74% of exams were graded 9-7 and 50% were 9-8.
This upturn reflects the hard work and commitment of pupils and teachers and is testament to their resilience amid a challenging set of circumstances.
“Today’s GCSE results are truly commendable. This year’s cohort deserves praise for two years of rigorous preparation, application and endeavour. These excellent results provide an assured foundation for pupils to embark upon the exciting challenge of A-level study and future university application,” said Jay Piggot, Headmaster.
Among the many highlights, six pupils achieved a run of 9s in all subjects.
