Over half-term, College squash captain Stan Tanguy was presented with an incredible opportunity to step on court with Paul Coll, the current world number one squash player, at his home club in Jersey.
Firstly, Stan enjoyed watching Paul Coll play Patrick Rooney (ranked world number 28) in an exhibition game. After this, Stan (who recently won the Jersey men’s squash competition) was invited to train on court with Patrick and then Paul individually. Finally, Stan featured in an exhibition doubles game, teaming up with Patrick Rooney, and competing against Paul Coll and the Jersey squash coach. Stan demonstrated that he is able to hold his own on court against the best in the world, winning the match in front of around 100 local squash players.
This was a fantastic experience for Stan, and the College can be proud that our number one squash player is able to compete at such a high level.
