Pupils, staff and parents of performers entertained a packed Big School of family and friends of the College with a variety of classic and contemporary jazz standards on Thursday evening. There were solo performances ranging from the Lower School to Upper Sixth, and each set was rounded off by the College’s Jazz Ensemble and Big Band.
The Director of Music, Mr Paul Johnson-Hyde thanked the trio of staff accompanying the soloists for sharing their expertise with the pupils: Mr Walker (Keys), Mr Osborn (Drums) and Mrs Wilson (Bass). The opportunity to share the stage with such accomplishments professional musicians is valuable experience for these young performers.
