Epsom’s entry into the United Kingdom Model Rocketry Competition has seen the College progress to the grand final to be held at Buckminster on the 7 October. The team successfully designed and built a rocket from scratch that travels at over 100 mph to a height of 800 feet, completes its flight in 43 seconds and lands without breaking an uncooked hen’s egg.
The competition is always popular nationwide and to make the final is true testament to their hard work in the closing weeks of the Summer Term. Whilst the usual prize of entering the international final held at the Paris Air Show is not up for grabs due to COVID-19, there are some exciting cash alternatives!
Well done to the students involved; Amy Scerri, Tallulah White, Ed Northover, Alexander Poulton, Thomas Booth and Myles Eckes.
