An impressive effort against a strong Reed’s although – unfortunately – the final pairs were unable to overcome the solid performances of their opponents.
Liam Colohan & Oscar Lent – Won 3 & 1
An incredible win for the pair against two players who came first and second in the National Schools Invitational with handicaps of +3 and scratch.
With Liam delivering some massive drives and Oscar holing some huge breaking 20ft putts, the pair shot level and turned the match around with five birdies to come back from three down with eight holes left to play. A great performance to finish off Liam’s HMC career after four years, never having lost an HMC match for the school.
Will Hewett & Jamie Reid – Lost 4 down
An unfortunate result for the pair, with Will having great iron play however they couldn’t quite capitalise on their opponent’s mistakes on the green. Jamie and Will played solid golf which is a promising pair for the next couple of years.
Jamie Taylor & Alex McWilliam – Lost 5 down
A difficult performance against a much stronger side, the less experienced pair were unable to match the performance of the Reeds consistent duos.
