Heidi Cheng (Cr), Kate Collie (M), Maggie Fairn (R), Kaycee Padayachy (M), Felix Porter (H), Riya Treohan (M), Scarlett Walker (R) and Amy Wydenbach (M) represented Bangladesh and Iceland at the first remote MUN conference ever attended by the Epsom College MUN Society.
Maggie and Scarlett were particularly impressive, deftly negotiating their first conference (let alone their first online conference). Kate earned the distinction of having her resolution passed in committee. This was quite an achievement, as seasoned veteran, Amy, narrowly missed out on this accolade.
Although Reigate Grammar School decided not to award any silverware this year, a number of students were very much in the thick of it, and surely would have received highly commended delegate awards under normal circumstances.
Despite this, the event was a highly enjoyable way to get back into the swing of things, and hopefully these experiences will continue to improve as the country’s MUN societies settle into the rhythm of things.
