Mr Sebastian Johns has been appointed as Assistant Head of Music. Mr Johns, a former pupil of Abingdon School, holds a BA in Music from Cambridge University. Prior to joining Epsom in 2018, he held the position of Musician-in-Residence at Uppingham School.
Mr Johns’ musical accomplishments are worth recording; he holds Grade 8 distinction in Piano, Cello, Organ and Singing, and sung with the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge for eight years (five as a chorister, three as a choral scholar).
Since joining the College, Mr Johns has established a new tradition of girls acappella singing, and led the newly formed whole Third Form choir in 2019. He leads many of the College’s music ensembles, and directed the Choral Society’s performance of the Messiah last year.
