From the moment the Government announced the lockdown, teachers at the College mobilised to support those working on the frontline in the fight against Coronavirus. These efforts included sending supplies of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to keyworkers in need.
Mike Day, teacher of DT, and Christopher Telfer-Mason have been busy using the College’s supply of polypropylene and its laser-cutting equipment to produce protective visors that are in such short supply.
We have so far created 1100 visors, and upon delivery of further material this weekend, an additional 500 will be made. Demand for the equipment is showing no signs of slowing yet, and we are working as quickly as possible to fulfill requests. Recent deliveries include 160 to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
