On Thursday 14 November, our three Royal Springboard bursary students – Gemima Iseka-Bekano (Wh), Asmin Cumert (Wh) and Ida Saidy (W) – traveled to Suisse Credit in Canary Wharf, together with Second Master, Mr Paul Williams, for the Royal Springboard Impact Report Launch, in the presence of the Charity’s Patron, Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal.
All speakers, including the Princess Royal, spoke movingly of the transformative effect of a boarding education on the students and their communities.
Gemima, Asmin and Ida started at Epsom in the Sixth Form in September and are thriving. The College fully funds places for two years and, in the case of the three girls, their places have been generously funded by two of our Old Epsomians.
Following the presentations, the girls had the opportunity to meet and talk with The Princess Royal. She was particularly interested in the subjects they were studying for A-level, and was duly impressed that all three girls have chosen to study STEM subjects.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet Her Royal Highness and to meet up with old friends and teachers from their previous schools.
