This year 36 pupils have embarked on the Young Enterprise competition. Split into four companies; FOMO, Platinum Mountain, Slidees, and Green Light. Each group has worked to produce a range of products, from water bottles to blankets.
Two groups progressed through to the Surrey North Area Final, namely FOMO and Slidees, demonstrating key skills to have earned honourable mentions for both their trade stands and presentations. The key vision for this year’s cohort has been ‘sustainability’. With all products being sourced from firms who have ILO (International Labour Organisation) affiliation.
The companies have been well-led throughout this process by assuming company roles, spearheaded by the four managing directors. The teams should be proud of their efforts over the course of this academic year and all, I am sure, have honed or developed new skills throughout this process.
Jennifer Phizackerley said: “This year we wanted to create a sustainable product and reduce the use of plastic cups around school – using this as an inspiration we decided to create Epsom College Coffee Cups. The modern design is insulated and high street standard with a handle and Epsom College logo with a magnitude of fun colours – these great cups will be available to buy at Founder’s Day!”
