A high turnout of parents, pupils, staff and guests attended a viewing of Design Technology coursework last Friday. Visitors to the College’s Design Technology Department were most positive about the coursework on show, which included completed GCSE, AS and A2 controlled assessment work.
Highlights included a wide range of high-quality GCSE work, our first following the new GCSE 9-1 Edexcel specification.
The A-level work, which was also our first under the new specification, was also completed to an exceptionally high standard with all students demonstrating considerable flair, imagination and creativity; culminating in skillful manufacture through diligent hard work. It is encouraging to see a good amount of the students looking to study Engineering and Design at university in the future.
The Lower Sixth were also able to showcase their project work which included flat pack furniture, biomimicry and some traditional woodwork including some nicely turned bowls.
