On a blustery day, Oscar Lent (Wa) and Joss Wells (Hu) played some inspirational golf at Whitgift’s home course – Croham Hurst Golf Club.
Playing from the forward tees Oscar was one under par and Joss seven over par for nine holes. Both made a wonderful start, securing birdie fours at the long first and a grand total of 10 points, with the opposition only managing four points.
Oscar continued to hit most fairways and greens in regulation and perhaps should have sunk a few more putts. Joss should also be delighted with his efforts this afternoon. The shot of the day was the one he hit from approximately 170 yards against the wind to 5ft, sinking the putt for a solid par.
This pair are considerably better than the top pairs at the established golfing schools of Whitgift and Reeds and this must bode well for the finals. The boys return to Croham Hurst next week for the final game.
