A successful week across the board for Epsom’s Hockey sides, with all matches playes either won or drawn.
The 1st team drew 1-1 against a competitive Pangbourne side, having been disappointed to just miss out in the county tournament in the week. Lottie Burton (M) scored once again and Tassy Williams (R) stood out with a commanding performance in this game.
There were also impressive wins for the 2nds, 3rds and 4ths.
In the 2nd XI, it was the excellence of the first half performance that won the game with a final score of 4-1 not flattering the side at all. Lauren New (Wh) scored twice in the match.
The 3rd team won 8-0 with hat tricks for Ella Nigrelli (Rv) and Jess Haigh (R) while there were two more goals for Sophie Lonnon (W)
A second Emily Vandrau (R) hat trick of the season was enough to defeat Pangbourne 3-0 in the 4th XI match.
In the junior teams, the U15As’ winning run came to an end, but they showed great character to come from 2-0 down to level the match at 2-2. Alex Nienow (R) led the revival, while Emily Long (R) and Tilly White (R) scored the goals.
The B team continued their good form, dominating their match, with player of the match Emily Bain (M) scoring two goals in a 4-0 win.
Sophie Edison (M) once again found the net in another 1-0 win for the U14As, where Lucy Picken (Wh) and Maddie Wearne (Cr) in defence played crucial roles in the victory.
The B team also won by a single goal, thanks to Holly Hewins (W), and both teams remain unbeaten.
The U13A and U12A teams won all 10 matches in their two festivals on a good day for Hockey.
The U13s conceded just once in their five matches, defeating Churcher’s, Christ’s Hospital, Island Free School, Lord Wandsworth and KES. Ella Stephens (Wa) and Amy Henwood (Hu) top scored during the day with three goals each.
The U12As were equally successful, scoring 13 goals and conceding just once in their wins against Churcher’s, Lord Wandsworth King Edward’s Whitley and Ryde. Lucy Campbell scored six goals and Edie McLennan Fordyce (GH) four in an excellent afternoon where Gina Carrington (Wa) stood out.
