The ISI inspected Epsom in November 2024. They spent three days in the College, talking to pupils, visiting lessons and scrutinising the policies and practices of teaching and operational staff. The results are a wonderful reflection of the whole College community.
“I am pleased to say that the ISI were very impressed and their excellent report on Epsom College is the result,” said the Head, Mark Lascelles. “I don’t want to use this report as an excuse to become self-congratulatory, after all parents should expect Epsom to meet all the standards and to provide an exceptional education for their sons and daughters. I do want to say two things though. Firstly, the pupils were outstanding and made a superb impression on the inspectors. Their positive and committed approach to school life was admired; their creativity, academic rigour and ambition were remarked on, and they were also commended for their kindness, inclusivity, social awareness and responsibility. Secondly, I would like to thank all our parents for their support. The inspectors spoke a great deal about our strong, thriving and united community.”
“The school community is characterised by inclusivity and equal opportunity. Pupils consistently demonstrate kindness and mutual respect in the way they support and encourage each other.” – ISI Report, 2024
“Attainment of pupils at GCSE and A-level is well above national averages for independent schools” – ISI Report, 2024
